First Access Credit Card Application and Activation:
There are many different options and types of credit cards available for US consumers (travel cards, rewards cards, cash back cards, etc). In addition to standard credit cards which may have varying degree of rigor when screening applicants, there are also cards which are designed for individuals who may not have the best credit history. The First Access Visa Credit Card is one such card which is designed for people whose credit score may not be all that great and would otherwise disqualify them from receiving more difficult approval odds credit cards. One very important thing to keep in mind however is that some of these types of credit cards can come along with very high interest rates, high activation fees, and big annual/monthly fees (more on this below). If you are a consumer with less than perfect credit but require a credit card, you must shop around for the best deal to avoid paying unnecessary fees.
What Do Consumers Need To Know About the First Access Visa Card:
- Approval for this card is very much more lenient than other credit cards and approval decisions can be available in as little as 60 seconds
- If you are attempting to activate a new credit card you will need to provide your 16 digit account number, your full social security number, and your phone number
- The First Access Card requires approved applicants to pay an $89 activation fee when opening a new account and a $75 first year annual fee will apply for the first year, $48 each year after
- Additionally a monthly service fee of $6.50 will apply to cardholders after the introductory first year rate is over (no monthly fee in the first year)
Credit card approval can be very difficult for consumers with poor credit history. If you are trying to rebuild bad credit a card with easier approval criteria may be necessary but often these cards come with exorbitant rates and fees. It is encouraged that consumers only use a card like this when absolutely necessary as there are many fee free credit cards available once your credit has improved and you can be approved for them.
